How ironic is that???
Are there no refineries in AK, so that transportation is the big deal?

I paid $2.58 last night in Monterey, but I'm at least an hour west of you, tucked up in the Alleghenies, and even further than that from any interstate highway! We go over to the Valley to do our "big shopping," including groceries.

Now it's $1.95 in Valley Center, Kansas, and if you have your Dillon's gas credits earned, it is $1.85 for regular unleaded.

The best price for diesel was in Sedgwick, Kansas, with $2.70 per gallon at the Co-op.

$2.33 here in Panama City, Fl. I paid $1.73 last night using my Winn Dixie rewards card, with .60 off per gallon. $30 to fill my van compared to $70 in early Sept.

I posted here back on October 28th, and gas in our area of Southern California was $2.95/gallon. (which was great, compared to $4.43/gallon in July!)

Today, November 25th, one month later, gas is $1.99/gallon. Unbelieveable!

Paid $1.57 this morning. I anticipate $1.53, maybe even in the $1.40s next week

$1.69 in Grand Rapids, MI. It feels great to pay under $30 to fill up, when it used to be up to $66.

So here is the question? Anyone looking to buy an SUV now? Will more people buy them now?

I think most people think the low gas prices are "temporary", I know I do...but I am very thankful that it is occuring during this expensive season.

Panama City, Fl $1.76. I have my Winn Dixie Points for 40 cents off, so $1.36 sounds good. I hope this isn't the calm before the storm.

I filled up for $1.61 Saturday. And I have no intention of getting rid of my SUV. Out here in the boonies I need that four wheel drive.

That's my old hometown! I love Warsaw!

I guess I should be very grateful. Looking at all these posts, Jacksonville, FL does have pretty low gas prices compared to where so many of you live. I don't think I have seen it for lower than $1.84, so I need to find out where Ken found it priced in the $1.61 range!

$1.59 at Walmart/Murphy Oil

What goes up...did come down...and took us with'em

Or as Kipling said much better:

"In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die."

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more."

We have shared the incommunicable experience of war; we have felt, we still feel, the passion of life to its top."

Happy Thanksgiving from Rockford, Illinois, where we are visiting our daughter's family! On our way here from Kansas the lowest price we saw was $1.41 in Missouri (kicked ourselves for not stopping) but we filled up for $1.59 in Des Moines. Iowa. Here in Rockford the gasoline was $1.89, and a daughter from
Michigan filled up for $1.54 on the way here.

We are finding much to be thankful for today, and the lower gasoline prices was one thing to include in our Thanksgiving.

Lots of $1.59 gas in Central/Southern Illinois.

This is really going to help revive the economy with the benefits potentially being realized in 2010.

I know hind sight is 20/20 but the price of fuel combined with the reckless loan market (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) is why our economy is in the tank and Obama is about to "change" our country.
