He is down about 450 votes with only 25% reporting

There are a lot of candidates in that race

Will there be a run-off with Moran and Tiahrt?

Unfortunately there is no run-off. If you win by one vote you win. However, there may still be uncounted absentee ballots or there may be a request for a recount. We had advanced voting, too, which deadline was today. It may take a little longer, but I think those votes have been mostly counted. If the vote is less than a few hundred difference, the race may not be called tonight. The last numbers I saw showed a difference of about 1,000 votes between Moran and Tiahrt with Moran slightly ahead.

Had there been one more week to campaign, I have no doubt that Tiahrt would have won because of the steep trend upward of his numbers. Haven't given up hope, yet.

With how close Moran and Tiahrt are, would it automatically be a recount ?

I'm gonna have to bug out. The professors being rather..."difficult" to work with, and I gotta leave.

Looks really dark for Tiahrt :( I don't like Moran, the more I read him about him. A sad day for the tea party movement. Many people say that the tea party movement is fielding weak general election candidates. They don't understand that without the tea party, their wouldn't have been any republican resurgence after the Obama victory.

Well, I want to be happy about the several races we have won. Here's another one race I am watching that will not probably get national coverage.

Cheryl Green is a hero to me. Green is running for the first time for the District #70 State representative. I met her at the Kris Kobach speech on the Constitution. When introductions were made, I looked all over the room and could not see her. Lo, she was sitting right beside me!

Cheryl is a first-time candidate, and thus I am proud of her. I encourage more of you to jump in and run for some office. (My husband and I ran today for our little precinct position, and I suppose we got the couple hundred votes needed to win). She has been seen at various Tea Party meetings. You would know her as Paul Revere, riding her horse in uniform. She gave a speech at the Wichita Tea Party and afterward she got a call from several people saying, "Why don't you run for office?"

When their barn burned down on their rural property, she and her husband realized there was not sufficient insurance money to rebuild, but there would be enough to run a campaign. So that is where they put their money. I was honored to put a little cash into her campaign. The last I saw she was ahead in the voting by 75% to 25% for her opponent. Of course, that was only 475 votes at the time, but still, I am very proud of this new citizen candidate running to make a difference.
