Sharron Angle: The Sarah Palin of Nevada?

Sarah Palin isn’t on the ballot this year, but the Tea Party Express’s candidate for Nevada sounds a lot like her.

Sharron Angle, a former state assemblywoman, was introduced by the Tea Party Express this morning as one of five Senate challengers it’s endorsing in Republican primaries. And she certainly played well with the 200 activists at the National Press Club, with a 15-minute speech packed with quirky metaphors, folksy syntax and hot conservative buzzwords.

“Good morning American patriots! You have brought a tsunami of conservatism across this country!” she opened. “We know what we want, and that is conservative values, those things our founding fathers fought for, but also that we have children fighting for to this day, and it incumbent upon us, on us, to fight for them right here in Washington, D.C.”

“I’m running for the people’s seat in Nevada in the U.S. Senate,” she said. “I’m running opposing ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ Harry Reid who’s embarrassed us, embarrassed us with the Cornhusker Kickback, the Louisiana Purchase and the Florida Free-Ride. … This fellow has told us that he’s just too big to fail. We’ve heard that before — just too big to fail.”

Sound familiar yet?

Angle continued: “Well, I’ll tell you something, he has been driving us over a cliff for years and I don’t really trust him behind the wheel of that bus he’s driving around up there. In fact, he’s been throwing us under that bus, he’s been waterboarding our economy for over a year now, and he’s us given the bailouts, the stimulus, ObamaCare, cash for clunkers. I say, Harry Reid, you’ve failed Neva– , uh, you’ve failed America. Not only has he failed America, but he’s failed Nevada. We have the highest unemployment rate in the whole United States, over 13%.” (Close, but that unfortunate statistic belongs to Michigan, at 14.1%.)

Who is Angle? Here’s how she introduced herself: “You know, I feel a little lonely today, I usually bring Smith and Wesson along, and I have to tell you I’m going to give Washington, D.C., a lesson in the Constitution, especially the second amendment. But I didn’t come alone today. I brought God — always bring him — and I brought my husband of 40 years, Ted Angle. Now, I subscribe to the KISS principle, Keep It Simple, Sharron. The solutions to the problems that we have with our economy are as simple as: pay it back, cut back and take back.”

Well, if she can take out Reid, then I'm all for it.
