On Fox and Friends Tim Pawlenty said he will decide about a 2012 run after the first of the year.

So, enjoy the holidays everyone as we may "get busy" early in 2011. I would think Mike will not jump in too early as he is now so well known.

Exciting times may be around the corner!

I expect Mike Huckabee to announce on his Huckabee Show Finale sometime in March or early April (after his book tour). Just a guess, but I think it makes sense.

Very reliable inside information I got just Tuesday night is that Pawlenty said he would not run if Huckabee ran.

REALLY!!! I like that, but it somewhat surprises me. I don't think Pawlenty and Huckabee would necessarily attract the same voters, but I wonder if this means Pawlenty either likes Huckabee or thinks of him as rather electable? I don't find Pawlenty very impressive in interviews, but of course I am rather biased (and thus don't necessarily WANT to find other potential candidates impressive).

Hmmm - VP positioning already? I know that Santorum is doing it.

Well, that is some shocking inside information.

T-Paw is a good guy. If Huckabee were not going to run, I would strongly consider T-Paw.

But, seeing Huckabee wear that Purple Tie on election day made my Huckabee heart smile.

It would be great to have T-Paw on Huckabee's side. Especially if T-Paw were jabbing Romney with his hockey stick.

Just read this on ROS, Pawlenty was asked about 2012 and competitors, and failed to mention Huckabee.

Why would Pawlenty say everyone else but Huckabee? odd

Romney, Daniels, Barbour, Rudy

Comes in at the 2:38 mark

Well, keep in mind that he might have not meant what he said about not running if Huckabee did. He could have very well been sucking-up to the parties he was with. Imagine a politician doing that.

Seems like a nice enough guy, but he has the charisma of a 150 yr old tortise.

Pawlenty is a VERY good fellow and would be a great President in so many of the ways most here value most.

But he just fails to "connect" which is a pretty important criteria for a successful President and a pre-requiste to win a party nomination.

He has tried now doggedly for a year and has gotten nowhere.

I hope he doesn't run.

I think it boils down to the fact that Pawlenty is smart enough to realize that he doesn't stand a chance if Mike runs.

I like Pawlenty, but I know Mike Huckabee; and Tim Pawlenty is no Mike Huckabee!

Pawlenty was just on Fox News Sunday and of course, Chris Wallace had to ask about 2012. He brought up the recent Iowa Poll showing Mike in the lead (actually showed the poll results on the screen for a short bit!) and T-Paw in last place of those shown in the single digits. He asked him why if he is so low, would he consider running - that he even looked again, and yes, Iowa was right next to Minnesota. Didn't he, as an evangelical conservative almost have to win Iowa in order to continue - Pawlenty said yes, or come in very close. T-Paw said that his name recognition was very low outside of Minnesota and in Iowa outside of northern Iowa, but pointed out that last time around, Huckabee's was even lower in Iowa when he started out and he ended up winning Iowa. He then repeated for the second time that he is very seriously considering it and will make the decision in a couple of months - will see what he can bring - saying he thinks he can bring a lot with 8 years of experience as governor - and personally, will also consider his family, making sure they are on board.

I think Pawlenty would make a good vp. He is knowledgeable, and solid but he lacks charisma. Mike has enough for the both of them in that department.
