Please use this thread to relate any state race you might be particularly passionate about.

Our Democratic Party General Assembly is poised to flip to the GOP for the first time since 1874.

In 2008 our D.C. delegation had 5 Dems and 1 GOP. After 2010 it was 2 Dems and 4 GOP. After tonight it will be 1 Dem (Senator Pryor who was re-elected in 2008) and 5 GOP.

Gotta go set up for a watch party.

Godspeed and God Bless America.

That is awesome, SDoc!

Nothing so spectacular in TX, but I am still in happy disbelief that Ted Cruz will be our new senator - I was sure Dewhurst would get it (even while voting for Cruz in the primary).

Anyone have word on how Akin's polling going in to today's vote?

CNN's results for Mourdock's race in IN looked dismal last I saw, though at least it is early in the count - trying to check in but my broadband service is going out on me again. Anyone following?

(Anybody else dealing with AT&T's lowest speed service? It used to be tolerably decent, but now it is 50-50 at best during late afternoon & early evenings)

Happy about Pence! He's a great guy. I would have preferred him as our candidate to Romney.

This might not be popular to say, but I have had some concerns about Akin that go beyond the woman's rape comment.

Unfortunately I think Murdock in Indiana got associated with Akin and that helped drag him down. I think Murdock could have stated his case better for life in the case of rape, but there wasn't anything wrong in what he said. It's just that what he said got lumped in with what Akin said, and I think that poisoned the water for him. Also Murdock was running against a very good Democratic candidate in Donnely.

Tim Kaine in Virginia is another strong Democratic candidate, and George Allen still had some leftover baggage from the last time he ran.

With 56% of the vote in, Michelle Bachman is actually tied at 50% with her challenger and only up by a little more than 400 votes.

The seat I'm watching really carefully is the Florida House race with Allen West. It's not been reported very widely, but establishment Republicans actually joined up with Democrats to get West out. It would be something if West can hold on. I certainly hope he does.

I think he's likely to hold onto it given that so much of the vote is in. But it is very close. http://elections.msnbc.msn.com/ns/politics/2012/florida/house/18/
