There's a few declared candidates. Saul Anuzis, Chairman of the MI GOP, is my choice. He supports the FairTax and he vows to stay out of primaries. His website is http://anuzisforchair.com There is also Ann Wagner, Gentry Collins, and Maria Cino.

A Fair Tax guy and studied economics, your pick sounds good Joshua.

He is also a big Romney backer, however.

That doesn't matter. He vows to stay out of the primaries. I have been following him for years, and have met him twice. He's a good guy. He is grassroots, not establishment. He will help the party.

I don't like that he said that he would stay out of the primaries. Sure anyone can say they will stay out of it, in the meantime they would be working behind the scenes, using surrogates, to boost Romney.

I hope Saul does not win this position. We really need someone neutral.

Gentry Collins is from Iowa and a Romney operative. A definite no-go. Although, he would guarantee First in the Nation for us......not sure that guarantee is worth his presence, however.

None of these candidates are going to be for Huckabee. But I sincerely believe Saul Anuzis is the best candidate for the party.

I think it is a little unfair to expect the next RNC chair support your candidate of choice in the primaries. That is not their role. Once there is a declared winner, then I fully expect the entire RNC to fully support the Republican candidate. I don't know any of the candidates other than Steele.

I think Steele being such a popular media figure may take the spotlight away from the new GOP Congress in 2011. I'm not saying he would be a bad choice if elected again; but maybe this time around we need someone who is quiet and works in the background raising funds for 2012 and staying away from controversy.

I don't think anyone here is advocating that the RNC chairman back Huckabee in the primaries. What we are trying to avoid, however, is backroom deals that will kneecap Huckabee. Shocking, I know, that something like that could happen.
