I was going through the list of admins/mods tonight and saw that there are several who haven't visited Huck's Army in 1-3 years, but still maintain their admin/mod status. I think it might be wise to email them to see if they are still Huckabee supporters, and if they think they will be active here at Huck's Army once Mike declares his candidacy. After seeing the posts by Brett Passmore, that his political views have shifted, and he's no longer a Huckabee supporter, I started to think that it wouldn't be good to have people who no longer support Mike to have admin/mod access to HA (Brett no longer does). Thoughts?

I agree. Please go ahead and send an email their way for all the moderators.

As to the administrators, I would just send David an email and ask him what he would like to do with those members. I believe they were all part of the forming of HucksArmy so not sure how that should be handled.

Thanks for updating this.

One thing to also consider. Once Huckabee announces, we should have an email letter ready to go asking regular HA members if they still support Huckabee and if they will still be active at HA.

Would you be able to get that email ready as well?

Thanks, Debbie

I'm going to be traveling for the next several days, so I won't be able to get to this for a bit. If anyone would like to help, please let me know, or go ahead if you'd like. Thanks.

Also, I was thinking maybe it would be a good idea to appoint some more mods.

If the rest of you agree, I'd like to nominate Southern Doc. I know him personally (really well actually) though I won't say how because I don't want to risk blowing his cover.

What do ya'll think about adding him as a mod and are there any other nominations?

I agree with emailing people. No need to email me...I'm on board. And I agree with asking Southern Doc to be a moderator. He has my vote.

Alright, if Ken responds and is also on board with asking Southern Doc to be a mod, I'll send him a PM and ask him if he's interested. I'm assuming one of the admins will have to do the legwork of making it official.

Good planning here. Southern Doc is a great choice. Thought of a couple others - perhaps Jack Somers (faithful, ardent young supporter for the 2008 race through now) and Mary (What's Not to Like) particularly come to mind. I know there are others that I can probably think of when I'm not just on lunch break at work!

Alright, I'll message SD, and I second the nominations of Jack (whom I've also met personally) and Mary.

Yes to Southern Doc, Jack and Mary!

Wish I could help with the letter to HA members, but I am swamped with kid stuff for the next 6 weeks. Then I am freed up for most of the summer. Just in time for Huckabee's summer time decision. :D

Southern Doc messaged me back and he's a go.

Can one of the admins change switch his status over and point him in the right direction as to where he should go to read up on his new "powers"?

Thanks!

ok, SD is now a mod... he should take a look in this forum:
viewforum.php?f=17

User Watch List is for discussion on users we are concerned about and considering taking action on. Topic Watch List is for topics in general (not just one individual) that are going off the rails. Beyond that there are a bunch of tutorials on that forum.
