How do we handle this thread?

Tammy3099 is a fairly new poster and is advertising her business in a friendly way.

From our board rules:
Quote:
10. No personal business solicitation

The purpose of this board is to support Mike Huckabee and the issues he stands for. Though the initiative may be exemplary, we don't want to divert our attention here to other efforts outside that scope, and we want to avoid being associated with money making efforts that may not reflect well on Huck's Army, Mike Huckabee, and the issues we support.

I moved the thread to an archive.

On the Write-in Huckabee thread:

I removed this post by Cobalt:

Yes, I wonder what they would do with 4 million Huckabee votes and a McCain loss?

Yeah, because I would rather see a socialist like Obama lead the free world than see McCain be president with out Huckabee as VP (note sarcasm). Grow up people. Quit being little kids who say "If I can't play the game my way I'll take my ball and go home". Seriously, maybe we should listen to Huckabee and vote for McCain, that way conservative judges are elected. Just one more conservative judge and Roe vs Wade will be in serious trouble. McCain can do a lot for our country, thats why Huckabee is campaigning for him. My vote went to Huckabee in the primary, but now my vote goes to McCain. Don't force me to undergo four years under socialist policies because you can't grow up enough to vote for McCain.

I sent him a PM saying that a number of people share his view but the tone is not how we interact with each other. I suggested that he re-post if he can do it in a respectful way.

We're all going to have to do our best to keep our eyes on things to keep everyone civil.

I moved it to an archive.

DelLeslie sent me a PM asking about the thread "Sara" questioning it and the fact it is only the 2nd post by TheWatcher viewtopic.php?f=126&t=15153

Any thoughts?

Yeah, it is kind of odd. I am not sure of the message that is trying to be sent with that. There is nothing in it specifically about Sarah Palin but the person is obviously linking it to her.

For now I have let it go in the hopes that it would be ignored and drop off our active list.

Anybody think we should remove the Meet the father of Bristol Palin's baby thread:
viewtopic.php?f=157&t=15466

I responded on there that it was not a credible source and decided for now to leave because I figured people would become aware of it anyway. I have no problem if we decide to archive it. Thoughts?

McFox posted this on the Palin email hacked thread:

Code:
The dems have officially hit a new low, opposition research is one thing but to invade somebody‚Äôs privacy like this is totally another. To top it off they blame her for using yahoo

From the scene shots below I would say it was a waste of there time.

This baby is adorable, how in the world anybody could ever abort anything as precious as this I will never understand.

I issued him a warning, removed the post, and commented on the thread that that sort of thing would not be allowed.

I posted this as code so that we are not tempted to peek but have what he posted. Should even this be removed from this thread? Should we take any other actions?

Post subject:  Re: Topic Watch List

I mentioned this to GrannyT tonight since we were both online, but I did have some concerns about our newest member USSAnot and QuoVadisAnima getting into it on the Palin/Biden Debate thread. I think calling someone "oral gigantis" would be equivalent to "big mouth," and thus, name-calling. Although not a totally horrible thing to say, it's getting a little close to the "no name-calling" rule :)

USSAnot wrote:
QV, what's your story? (Oral gigantis)

Our newest member was pretty annoyed b/c ProEvangelical was calling him out as a troll (and QVA picked it up from there) when he is evidently just a very enthusiastic Palin supporter who did formerly support Mike. I think beezwax and a couple others tried to settle things down pretty well, but.... check out the thread if you want to.

I don't think any minds are going to be changed. I'm trying hard not to read too much of that thread because pacifist have always made me tempted to pass a fist. Should we lock the thread or let it keep going?

Post subject:  Re: Topic Watch List

There is quite a lot of Mormon talk going on in the HA boards. Supporters of Romney and others, simply just have to copy and paste what Huck supporters are writing and then post it on their own websites.

Can a moderator please take the time to read and edit these comments. Please send the person a pm and ask them to refrain from writing about the Mormon faith.

I don't agree with the Mormon faith, but I do want Huckabee to win in 2012, and we want him to be able to focus on the issues, not other candidate's religious faith.

I do not have time to moderate the board this week, helping my daughter who is a senior wrap up a project that is due. I can help next week, but something needs to be done about this now.

What do y'all think? Let it go or stop the Mormon talk on the threads?

Why Beck attacked Huckabee: The story behind the story

New member "Truth Teller" has posted this article twice now, after I deleted it the first time because I felt it was not appropriate for our forums.

Quote:
I mean, what an evil person. This is what I mean when I call Beck a typical Mormon evader who is dishonestly and deceitfully duping people. It's absolute evil. So that's the story behind the story, folks. Glenn Beck is a coward and Mike Huckabee is a HERO for standing up for truth.

The person also said that it was "posted at Hotair.com". I went to the link and it was posted as a comment on a story.

Have any of you looked at it closely or am I just overreacting?

I think it's time to close the Rick's Army thread. It's really gone downhill, and waaaayyy off topic. Mods, let me know if you agree. I never saw this coming when I posted the link...
:(

I think it would be a good idea to talk about laying down some new ground rules for the rest of the election cycle. If HA is going to survive this, I think we need to find our way back to making this board verticle.

Sounds like a good idea. My effort to curb the drift had as much effect as an Obama administration sanction against Iran.
