Brett - I support whatever we want to do and I understand that I am a fairly new moderator. But the people we have on this board are unique compared to most supporters in that most are self disciplined and have given much to the campaign. That doesn't mean that I don't think that there should be a serious push to encourage people.

Most people on this board have spouses and children and will be turned off by "forum punishment" such as locking the news post in order to give or promote giving sacrificially. People give sacrificially because they believe in something such as Huckabee's presidency and this wonderful movement that is behind it.

One of the reason's why people like me spend 5-6 hours a day away from my family to support Huckabee, is because I truly believe that this is a crucial time we are in and will continue to give much in order to accomplish things.

Just providing an honest perspective.

I agree...we should not lock anything down. Let's just stay positive and keep promoting.

Encourage with incentives...not punishments.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWFCaR73exs

I emailed Rett about the video and the pic at the end and here was his response:
Quote:
Hey...Thanks for the positive feedback...I would say this about the picture...The whole point of the picture is that Huckabee is an everyday All-American guy...He plays his bass guitar, which happens to have an American Flag strap, and he does this with an American Flag in the background...I have actually had great feedback about the pic through my blog...I would be hesitant to take it out because it is crucial to what I'm trying to portray...one of the key reasons Ron Paul and his online fundraisers worked is that they had him portrayed as an Icon to the online community and more importantly to the Community that he represented...Huck represents the Blue Collar Christian Community...for this reason I feel the pic is appropriate...I'm not looking for my video or videos to be the only one's on the site...I would love it if we did like the RP people and had many videos on the site...Thanks again for the feedback...and I will continue to be making videos...

Rett Hatcher

I say we just put the video at the bottom of the page the way it is and encorage others to make more

I just saw that pic at the end... I ROFL. Sorry. That video would've been 10 times more effective if it was a different pic instead. Oh well, Rett doesn't seem to budge.

Thanks guys. I completely agree with you about staying away from negativity. I stayed up till 4am last night screening out fake pledges and the fact that so few "real" people are pledging was getting to me. Thanks for getting me back on track. :)

Brett - That must be frustrating having to get rid of all the fake ones.

I was thinking. What would be the best way to increase one's pledge on the dec27th website?

For instance, I know I am not the first one that made a pledge yesterday but this evening I am encouraged now to increase my pledge. Should I just pledge again with the same email address and how much additional I want to pledge?

I think others might do the same thing as the days go by and might wonder the same thing.

Its "Fritzafraniac"

I sent him an email 2 and left him a voice mail message. Someone besides me should PM him if we think we can work together.

If not - then this site he has seems fine as long as it doesn't distract from the December 27th day.

It's a great site. I don't have any trouble leaving it. In fact, I think this would be the fundraising website we'd want to push after Dec27th.com is over.

My only thought was this line that he has:

Quote:
Your pledge is obligation free until we reach the ten-thousandth pledge.

It seems to be talking about waiting to donate until 10,000 pledges have been made. When do we think it will possibly reach 10,000 pledges if dec27th is currently at "280" and we have had campaign exposure?

When he returns my call I might just run this logic by him if you guys think its worth it.

I just talked with him for about 15 minutes. We're on the same page. He's going to put a link to Dec27th.com on his homepage and we're going to put a "After Dec27th.com . . . HuckabeeMomentum.com" kinda banner on Dec27th.com.

Our main concern at this point is for people to know that we are aware of each other and are not competing. He's fine just poking along until after the 27th and I'm excited about pushing what he's doing once it doesn't detract from our fundraiser.

I think your point is right-on. That might be the kind of thing we can give him feedback on before we start pushing it. I think it does need a date attached.

I just did an interview with the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and will be doing another interview with Slate Magazine in half-an-hour. It seems like we're getting attention. :D

Here are the numbers:

==========================================

Day One: 176 pledges -- $34,119 -- Avg. Donation: $193.96
Traffic: 3,171 unique visitors -- Main Source: Campaign link

Day Two: 93 pledges -- $8,805 -- Avg. Donation: $94.62
Traffic: 4,975 unique visitors -- Main Source: Ron Paul links

Day Three: 27 pledges - $2,161-- Avg. Donation: $80.04
Traffic: 1,345 unique visitors -- No clear referrer...

==========================================

We have over 1,000 members on this forum. There is no reason that each of them haven't pledged for at least $1 -- just a single dollar. :P

How is promotion on Facebook, MySpace, Meetup, etc. going? Who is heading those things up?

Meetups got the word earlier today...facebook work is ongoing...we talked about it in our regional conference call tonight...we will talk about it at our state conference call tomorrow night as well.

I expect a lot of this impact to not be felt for a day or two.
