From Politico:
Quote:
BREAKING -- The GOP has gained control of the House, NBC News projects. The network says Republicans will win 236 seats and that Democrats will have 199, with a 13-seat margin of error.

PLUS: Republicans have picked up another Senate seat, with John Hoeven defeating Byron Dorgan in North Dakota.

While we're awaiting results, are there any issues on your state's ballot that are of national interest? In CO, there is a "personhood" amendment that defines life as starting at conception. The same proposal was deated in 2008, but I'm hoping large GOP turnout here will help to pass it this time. There is also a measure that would basically protect Coloradans from Obamacare.

We have Prop 19 (legalization of marijuana) here in California. Based on recent polls, the proposition is expected to fail. I, of course, voted against Prop 19.

Found an election map at The NY Times, where you can track results county by county for any state:

I hope Prop 19 is defeated.

In other news, Pelosi found out that being stuck in la-la land can't save you from having the sacred gavel ripped out of her gnarled hands.

Good riddance.

Hey, what's up with Toomey? Were the polls that far off? I thought he was up by at least 5%.

I predict that it will fail by at least 10%. About 12% is my best guess.

John McCain wins a fifth (and what he says will be his last) term.
Chuck Grassley wins in Iowa.

In Iowa, the big issue is to kick out the 3 Supreme Court Judges that voted for gay marriage led by former candidate for Governor and former chair for Mike in Iowa, Bob Vander Plaats.

I stopped in to vote after work between 6:00 and 6:30. I normally vote earlier in the day. There was a line of at least 20 waiting. I have never seen a line there before beyond 2 or 3 when I have gone. It was awesome to see so many people out voting.

This is the first time that I have voted for such a wide variety: Republicans, a Democrat, a Libertarian, written in a name, and voted out judges, all on one ballot. Maybe it's because I'm better informed this time around then ever before.

Here in Iowa, it was just announced that Branstadt (R) won the Governor's race ousting Chet Culver, the incumbent and Senator Grassley (R) has been reelected.
