The polls close at 5PM in Indiana?! Isn't that tough for people who are working?

Oh, and ironically, I thought all of Indiana was on CST. Still, even 6pm seems early. I thought 7pm was the standard across the country.

Ah, that makes more sense! Y'all must be early risers up there!
Thanks, Steadfast!

Edited to add:
Funny how one simply makes assumptions based on one's own experience. There is a lot more variation in the states' poll times than I realized - just ran across this at Politico:
Quote:
Tonight's Senate viewing guide - Senate Races Live: Tonight's Senate viewing guide
November 02, 2010

The polls just closed in Indiana, where former Sen. Dan Coats faces Rep. Brad Ellsworth in an attempt to win back his old Senate seat. It’s going to be a long night, so check out our handy guide to when the polls will close in the big Senate races this evening:

6 p.m. — Indiana, Kentucky (some precincts)

7 p.m. — Florida, Kentucky (most precincts)

7:30 p.m. — West Virginia, Ohio

8 p.m. — Missouri, Illinois, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania

8:30 p.m. — Arkansas

9 p.m. — Wisconsin, Colorado

10 p.m. — Nevada

11 p.m. — California, Washington (But as we’ve reported, results could take days to determine.)

12 a.m. — Alaska (Again, as we’ve noted, this could take weeks.)

From Politico:
Quote:
06:33 PM INDY WINNERS: The AP has called House for GOP Reps. Mike Pence and Dan Burton, who both easily won reelection in Indiana.

The early numbers in IN-2 excite me. This is the race they have circled early to tell whether this will be a landslide. Go Jackie!

Souder just cautioned everyone by letting us know that those returns are from Walorski's county.
