Here's a good site: http://arkansasmatters.com/

BTW, the 2nd largest city in AR, Fort Smith, cannot tabulate the votes. They've got computer techs working on it, but say they probably won't be able to have results until tomorrow.

I was able to vote for the following:
Jim Keet ~ Governor
Mark Darr ~ Lieutenant Governor
Mark Martin ~ Secretary of State
Steve Womack ~ Congress

However, I knew Boozman had a big lead on Lincoln and so I voted for the Tea Party candidate, Trevor Drown, instead. Boozman voted for the TARP bailouts after I sent repeated emails asking him not to and I just wanted to send a message. Boozman and Lincoln had MILLIONS in their warchests; there was no way Trevor Drown could compete.

I really hated voting for Steve Womack. He beat my preference in the primary. Our dem. governor is doing a good job and was expected to win big. (I mean, a democrat that CUTS taxes?) So Keet's loss is not a bad thing.

Here is the main headline of the election in Arkansas:

ARKANSAS NOW A TWO PARTY STATE!

You have to understand that the Dems have been in unbroken control since 1874. That's one of the factors almost nobody gets about Huckabee and his success as Gov.

The Dems have not just controlled this state, the Rep have not even been players.

That is no longer the case.

The Republicans gained 14 seats in the state House and now have 44 seats to the Dems 56. The GOP won 14 of the 18 contested races.

The Republicans gained 7 seats in the state Senate and now have 15 seats to the Dems 20. The GOP won ALL seven of the contested races.

These gains are unprecedented and more powerful than they first appear. Arkansas has numerous ammendments to its 1874 Constitution which apply supermajority votes (60%; two-thirds; three-forths) to a wide array of tax, borrowing, and spending issues.

The Republicans won the Lt Gov. Race against a well known state Senator who was also the former House Speaker.

The Republicans won the Secretary of State office which will give them a place on the three member reapportionment board and is thus HUGE!

They also won the Commisioner of Lands office which underscored the following:

Republicans won EVERY contested state-wide race in which they had a candidate except for the very popular incumbent Gov.

FEDERAL:

Arkansas went from 5 Dems and 1 Reps going to Washington in 2009 to 2 Dems and 4 Reps going to Washington in 2011.

none were opposed

The answer is yes but he did not support everyone (many from NW Arkansas were OK on their own). Huck target competitive races in the House and helped win 5 of 7 so targeted. State Senate they were one for one. They supported the whole state-wide and Federal slate and thus had a very good night there.

Mark Darr won the Lt. Gov. race. I met him when he hosted a Huck Pac event several months ago at his pizza restaurant. He is a "non politician" and Im glad he won.

It could be he would follow in Gov. Huckabee's footsteps, which is why it is always important to win the lieutenant governor race. Though I am not wishing the Governor ill.
