Gallup: Gingrich Receives Highest Support
Newt Gingrich continues to be the preferred presidential candidate among Republican registered voters nationally, according to Gallup Daily tracking from Jan. 22-26.

The level of support — 32 percent of Republican voters say Gingrich is the candidate they are most likely to support — is the highest since primary voting began in January. The 24 percent who say they're supporting Mitt Romney represent his lowest number.

Ron Paul and Rick Santorum each have just under 15 percent support, the Gallup tracking poll shows.

Gingrich's eight-percentage-point lead over Romney is his best since mid-December, Gallup says. He moved ahead of Romney in Gallup Daily tracking from Jan. 19-23, and has expanded the lead slightly, Gallup says, "indicating that Romney's sharpened rhetoric, combined with various attacks on Gingrich by such major Republican Party figures as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Bob Dole, hasn't been particularly harmful."

I wonder if the national numbers will follow Florida or if Florida will follow the national numbers. Maybe it's just the housing collapse issue in Florida, or maybe it's the negative ads by Romney.

Gingrich's numbers stayed high nationally while they tanked in IA, as well. So it could be the ads, it could be that once voters start thinking more seriously about who to vote for as their vote approaches that they change their minds for whatever reason.

I've seen Romney's negative ads against Gingrich running already in Michigan. I've also seen Gingrich ads that were positive ads promoting Gingrich. I've seen far more Obama ads than anything else though. Just last night I wanted to watch the webcam of the dolphin from the movie Dolphin Tale, and there was an Obama ad on the video.

Just the other day Obama had a huge rally in Ann Arbor with lines of people enthusiastically supporting him. What's wrong with these people? He's been a disaster on every level!

Obama ads! That's news to me.

Down in central Texas I have seen zero presidential race ads.

Tons of Ted Cruz, Craig James, Tom Leppert, and David Dewhurst ads though, as they're all running for US Senate in GOP primary. I probably see one of their ads every commercial break when I happen to be watching TV in the evening time.

Lots of Obama ads here. Texas is clearly Republican territory. He won't bother with TX. He's going after the battleground states like NC, MI, FL, OH to name a few.

I don't know, he has a higher approval rating here than Gov Perry has! Ok, only three points higher (43 vs 40), but still.
