Looks like newt still has about 6 points to drop before then...and the undecideds have to vote for someone. They just need another reason for it to be Santorum. If they see that he can also win MI, I think they split mostly for Rick. So i'd add 8 to rick and 3 to mitt giving us 41-39 mitt lead. a 9/2 split makes it dead even. Gunna be interesting.

The first night of our polling in Arizona was pretty much a tie between Romney and Santorum

A tweet from PPP earlier today.

Not sure when the final results are released but it looks like AZ is tightening up a bit.

PPP says this:

Quote:
MI may be moving on a different track than elsewhere because our AZ numbers (out tomorrow) and WA ones (out Tuesday) are good for Santorum

Arizona is going to be tight too. I have a feeling that Santorum may win Arizona and surprise everyone. He's headed to Arizona this week.

I had read that RS was not campaigning in Arizona but would be at the debate. They said he didnt have anything scheduled for there. Were they wrong?

Schedules change, especially when polls change first.

Monday Santorum will be in Ohio and Michigan. Tuesday and Wednesday he'll be campaigning in Arizona.

True, Newt is now going to be campaigning there also, and he hasnt had anything showing on his schedule either.

I was thinking - this Wednesday is Ash Wednesday & am wondering if the two Catholics will be at the debate with ashes on their foreheads.

(DH & I both agreed that they will probably be criticized if they do AND if they don't!)

Here's that PPP Arizona poll.

http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main ... izona.html

Romney: 36%
Santorum: 33%
Gingrich: 16%
Paul: 9%
Undecided: 6%

Were Gingrich not in the race it says that Santorum would lead Romney 43-41 in Arizona.

Hopefully some of those Gingrich votes will peel off for Santorum if they see he can beat Mitt with their vote.

This is expected news. I think Romney had so many advantages in AZ, it would have required a miracle to beat him. I would be thrilled if it were just closer than 10 points.

Romney's going to win Arizona, but the important thing for Santorum is finishing ahead of Gingrich so that conservatives consolidate by one candidate to beat Romney.
