PPP is tweeting that Santorum is up 10 points in Washington on Romney through 2 days of polling.

I think Rick is the only one thats been there yet.
Is Washington a blue state? I remember, Mike did not do well there.

It's a caucus, so Romney is at a disadvantage because his supporters aren't enthusiastic. There are also a lot of Mormons, which keeps Romney competitive. Paul should do well there too. A win in Washington would be good momentum for Santorum heading into Super Tuesday. It's also worth more delegates than either Arizona or Michigan.

Huckabee did very well there. He and McCain were neck and neck until they "quit counting." Results were always very vague. I think they eventually gave McCain the win by 1% or something.

Yep, I seem to recall some questionable stuff going on with McCain's win there similar to what happened with Romney's "win" in Maine!

Also, Washington was after Super Tuesday in 2008 so Romney had already dropped out.

PPP poll released today:

Santorum: 38%
Romney: 27%
Paul: 15%
Gingrich: 12%

Quote:
Santorum is by far the most popular of the Republican candidates with 69% viewing him favorably to only 18% with a negative opinion. Romney is the only other one who even has a positive favorability rating. He's at 47/42. The disparity between Santorum and Romney's numbers in Washington resembles what we found for the contests two weeks ago in Missouri and Minnesota, both of which Santorum ended up winning by a healthy margin.

I can't find any exit polls from the 2008 Washington caucus, but here's what the results were:

McCain: 26%
Huckabee: 24%
Paul: 22%
Romney: 15%
Uncommitted: 13%

This was after McCain did very well on Super Tuesday. If the caucus had been on or before Super Tuesday, Huckabee would have surely won it.

This time around, Santorum has to be considered the favorite by a wide margin in Washington.
