....About 50 people were at the diner to listen to the Republican presidential candidate plead his case for their February caucus votes. Many in the audience aligned with Huckabee’s Christian faith, commitment to the Constitution and fiscal conservatism.
Army veteran Terry Jerrel of Mount Pleasant voted for Huckabee when he ran in 2008 and intends to caucus for him again next year.
“He has my vote, to be honest with you,” Jerrel said. “I think what attracts me to Mr. Huckabee is his integrity. I find him honest and sincere. I find him diligent in what he believes in. I think it’s important to have a Christian in the office.”
