Time Magazine has compiled a list of Mike Huckabee's new campaign staff, which includes many old names, but also some notable additions hired from former Romney and other campaigns. This article gives us an inside picture of those people we need to be praying for in the coming months. It will be vital to a successful campaign that they work well together and solely for the benefit of Gov. Huckabee. Too often we have seen other campaigns split or fail to work together effectively for the candidate because of disagreement, pride, or hurt feelings. Already, a core of the veteran Huckabee staffers have demonstrated the ability to work well together, and now we see many new ones, especially in the area of finances and fundraising.

I had a wonderful last-minute job "guarding the gate," so to speak, keeping people out of the staging area where Huckabee's advance team was meeting at the Historic Barn rally in Urbandale, IA. It was a great vantage point from which to watch how efficiently and effectively Aaron Chang, Huckabee's new event planner, was making sure the event was staged correctly and began precisely on time.

Please put these names on your prayer list:

- Sarah Huckabee Sanders -- top adviser to the campaign
- Chip Saltsman -- senior adviser, unofficial spokesman
- Jordan Powell -- deputy campaigner, online priorities
- Bob Wickers -- longtime pollster (formerly with Romney)
- Bryan Sanders -- media consultant
- Miles Hargrove -- filmmaker of "Fast and Furious," etc.
- Jim Terry -- Capital Hill veteran in charge of outreach to elected officials
- Alice Stewart -- top Huckabee communications aide
- Aaron Chang -- event planner (inaugurations, G-8 summit, etc.)
- J. Hogan Gidley -- media relations
- Lt. Gov. Tim Giffin (AR) -- senior political advisor
- Chris Maiorana -- digital strategist, chief of technology
- Chadwick Gallagher -- PAC chief
- Stacy DeJarnett -- senior adviser in financing
- Alice Tadlock -- operations coordinator
- Liinus Catignani -- online cash raising
- Katy Faulk -- fundraiser
- Cathy Lanier and Jenna Recker --

They will be grateful for our prayers, with Gov. Huckabee and his wife Janet being most grateful.

Is there a way to do a mass-mailing to all former Hucks-Army members? Remind them that we're still here, especially after this announcement.

Great idea. Lots of the old guard still missing and being missed.

I like this part of the article:

Quote:
• Jordan Powell will be the deputy campaigner, coming from RedRight Strategies, a digital firm that he founded. A veteran on Huckabee’s 2008 bid, he also has worked for Rep. Chuck Fleischmann’s campaign in Tennessee and official congressional offices. His hire signals Huckabee is looking to make online efforts a priority.

I know Bill Goins spent a great deal of time a few months ago doing that, but the interest at the time was not as great as hoped for. But it would be even more valuable to email former members--now that Gov. Huckabee has announced his candidacy for President--to rebuild the unique Huck's Army site and get back in touch with old friends. I also appreciate the extensive archives of comments from years ago, which could offer valuable insight today. Of course, some if not many of the members here went on to support other candidates in the interim between his 2008 run, his 2012 consideration of entering, and today since Huckabee has announced.

I have never felt such camaraderie of a site as I found on Huck's Army years ago. Huck's Army has never claimed to be "the official site" for the campaign, though it was very influential in helping Huckabee back in 2008, to go as far as he did. It always has been a "grassroots effort." I like the fact that this format is a website and offers a more private forum. Facebook is good, too, and necessary to a campaign. But we have a little more opportunity for thoughtful commentary here, I believe. And then, if Facebook fails at some point, we could still be here. (We remember how they can suspend a person's Facebook page for 24 hours if they think a member is not appropriate, which usually means one who takes too strong a conservative position.)

We need to use all the various methods of communication and not limit ourselves to one.
