Fox News Radio's Todd Starnes' podcast of a very good interview with Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Thanks so much, Miranda, for sharing this. I appreciated the tremendous grace with which Mike Huckabee can look at the whole situation of conservative Christian leaders turning their backs on him for secular reasons. He refused to take the bait of Todd Starnes in the interview, trying to get him to come out and say Cruz might have an integrity problem. "I'm not going to define it." Rather, he expressed disappointment that evangelical leaders discount the idea of a David being able to slay a Goliath, or that God might want to use a small Gideon's army to defeat a much larger enemy army. In other words, some evangelical leaders or organizations went "not with 'consistency' but with 'convenience;'" some went with 'cash' as their deciding factor. He makes the point that another reason might be donor money: these organizations may really be frightened that Huckabee is so bold in really wanting to "slay the dragon." If their issue went away, they could no longer raise funds or remain "in business." He applauded Franklin Graham, who shares Huckabee's concerns about the secularization of goals among Christians, where politics is concerned. Quite a few of these groups or ministries do pray to God but then don't really want to seek spiritual answers. They look to secular things like polls or money. But Huckabee argues, "Either we believe in a big God or we don't." He says that if we live by politics, we do not listen to God. He tells these organizations to be honest, also, with their donors. They will talk about prayer, but they do not believe that God sometimes uses the weak, but humble believer against much mightier opponents.

Iowa radio host Steve Deace is using Huckabee's comments about "slaying the dragon" to attack him and his criticism's of leaders not taking pro-life legislation, etc. seriously enough.

Maybe I'm too harsh, but maybe there's also a grain of truth in it. After this election, maybe it's time also for leadership replacement in some of the big Christian organizations... (for example, all those who prematurely or against better knowledge and judgement tied themselves to the Cruz campaign - won't this maybe come back to haunt them? Make a mistake once (2008) - okay. Make a mistake twice...? )
