I'm sorry that the people of Iowa have been snubbed by the other candidates, but this looks like a great opportunity for Mike Huckabee. :)
Quote:
Sioux City GOP Debate Canceled

October 19, 2007 (AP)--A planned debate next week in Sioux City among Republican presidential rivals has been scrubbed because most of the candidates decided not to participate.

Instead, sponsors of the debate will hold a town hall-style meeting for the two candidates who agreed to take part -- John McCain and Mike Huckabee.

The debate's sponsors included AARP, the nation's largest group representing seniors. The event was to have been broadcast live on Iowa Public Television and fed to PBS for use throughout the country.

Anyone heard if CSpan might carry it? I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Or maybe PBS will put it on their website at least. I hope so.

Mike probably won't get a huge national boost from it — but it will be (and already is) a big deal to Iowa voters. You don't snub them and get away with it. They'll remember this as they make up their minds over the next three months.

Not national but hopefully if they televise it locally, he will get a nice boost in iowa. which could propel him nationally.

being in Sioux City, IA. I can attest personally that the newspaper made a big deal out of this. The journal covers a tri-state area (N Sioux CIty, SD - S Sioux City, NE - Sioux City, IA).

Siouxlanders won't forget about this, and it is my belief there is already a boost for Huckabee but only time will tell.
