I loved Huckabee's show this weekend, especially Anne and Jim DeMint.
Funny that Billy wasn't the one who brought her to Christ. He was the one who brought me!!! :fw :fireworks :balloons

I thought it was interesting that Jim DeMint basically said he should've endorsed Mike last time instead of Mitt.

Huckabee to Demint, "Why have you decided not to run". Demint to Huckabee, "When I look in the mirror I don't see a president ... I was hoping you would run". This and the discussion that follows is a strong indication that Demint would be in Mike's corner.

This is the most significant development I have seen yet. Demint said he had supported the wrong candidate last time when he endorsed Romney. He also apologized to Mike for not supporting him, Mike, the right candidate, in 08.

Demint is a leader in an important segment of the Republican party, a segment which is concerned with the primary issue of the day, and in addition, he is a Senator from South Carolina, an important primary state. The invitation for Huckabee to look in the mirror and "see a president" was unmistakable.

I noted that Demint did not turn the question around as many would have and ask why Huckabee chose not to run. I believe he (Demint) knows that there is still time and as he said, he had hoped that Huckabee would run.

Here is at least another who would concur. Look in that mirror Mr. Huckabee. Can you see a man called for such a time as this?

We can only hope this conversation led Mike to rethink running. A DeMint endorsement would be just what Mike would need to get legitimacy from the talk radio set.

Note also that later in the discussion, DeMint speaks to Huckabee asking him to remember "we saw signs of that when you [Huckabee] FIRST ran [for president]". If DeMint had no hopes of a future run for Huckabee, would he not simply have said "we saw signs of that when you ran". By including the word "first" does it not imply that in DeMint's mind he believes there will be a second time.

Here are some of the names of politicians that are considered leaders in the conservative movement that I am thinking might be positive toward encouraging a Huck run:

Senator Jim DeMint
Senator John Thune
Sen. Tom Coburn
Representative Paul Ryan
Representative Mike Pence
Governor Bob McDonnell
Governor Haley Barbour
Governor Bobby Jindal

Have any of them expressed support for a current candidate?
Can anyone think of any others?
