Goal=admirable

Never occured to me that I could bypass the legislature and do what I wanted to do.

You can't bypass the process that is very clear in law

Basic constitution 101

Just want to give a personal perspective on this issue:
My nephew recently married an illegal from Nicaragua. Her parents immigrated LEGALLY from Nicaragua when she was a small child. She could not be given citizenship because she was a minor. (You cannot become a citizen until you are 18 yrs old) Her siblings are all US citizens because they were born here. She graduated high school here, knows no one in Nicaragua, and cannot remember anything about it.
By marrying my nephew they immigration was alerted and they are trying to deport her. The immigration attorney we have says that if they deport her, the odds are very small that she will survive long enough to return. The immigration attorney says her case is the exact one Obama's plan is targeting - the one Huckabee is in agreement with. There needs to be a way for her to become a citizen without being deported.

Republicans should have been working with democrats to fix the immigration rules before Obama did this.
In my nephew's wife's situation, the attorney says it will not apply because she was arrested 5 days before it went into effect. My nephew is trying to raise money (on top of the $6000 attorney fee) in case he has to go to Nicaragua to protect her.
