Ok I am a little confused based on everything I know about Huckabee. He has always said a third party candidate would be devistating to the republicans and I agree. I happen to know that Trump really liked Mike Huckabee and wanted him to run and win.

So this seems a little odd to me.

"Fox News host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee thinks the time may be ripe for billionaire developer Donald Trump to re-enter the presidential race.

In an email sent out Thursday, Huckabee quotes Democratic pollster Pat Caddell as saying more and more Americans believe that leaders of both parties are “acting like children.” Huckabee also points out that the polls are increasingly reflecting this sentiment.

Yeah, that's a sensational headline that misconstrues what Huck said yet Huck is smart enough to know that that's what was gonna happen. That's what happens. I don't know why he would say that.

What he says in the email, "Caddell said there’s never been a better time for an independent candidate with business experience to run for office. So who knows? Maybe we haven’t seen the last of Donald Trump."

He's clearly not saying Trump should run, he's saying he wouldn't be shocked if Trump got back in. Either way, it's irresponsible to say that since we know Trump is pleased for the attention, and Trump will read that and think, 'Mike is thinking of me, maybe he really wants me to run, maybe people really want me to run!'

Why'd you do it, Mike, why'd you do it. Donald Trump and political office are two things that never need to be in the same sentence.

It reminds people that:
1) Most are not satisfied with the current field
2) It's not too late for someone else to jump in
Keeping both of those notions fresh serves him well..........

Dang you Steves, you beat me to the punch again!!! LOL. This is exactly what I was thinking. Huck has now done this twice in 2 weeks. He previously mentioned that it was not too late for someone to jump in, but specified that Christie wasnt running and that Perry had endorsed Rudy so he wasnt a good choice (hint, hint). Huck isn't stupid. He knew exactly what this email would do. Huck benefits from more candidates being in the field to spread everyone thin. It allows him to enter even later in the race, He really needs to see if palin enters, which would bring rudy in. Then if a guy like trump got back in you would see no one over 13 or 14% and Huck would have his entry point. He would immediately take all Cain supporters, a large chunk of bachmann, perry, palin, santorum, and tpaw supporters, and hed grab the romney folks who only want romney because he is our best shot at beating Obama. New leader with 25%+ is Mike Huckabee.

I know, Linda, and I do think it's possible that Huck would accept an offer to be his vp, but they are just so different that I find that possibility a little funny. :)

The Governor addressed this during his Fox & Friends appearance this morning...said it was more tongue in cheek and the bloggers picked it up and ran with it...he basically said Trump would have already gotten the parties together to make deal.

His basic point is that Obama lacks leadership (which everyone knows) and someone with a business background sees the big picture and can forge a deal!
