Umm...err...they do realize that there are 49 other states to go. They make it seem like Iowa has just decided the next president...

The reason that Perry and Bachmann are considered finished here is because their greatest appeal is supposed to be to conservative voters like those in Iowa. If they could even not pull off a respectable showing in Iowa, then they are not likely to get enough traction to go anywhere from there.

They are waiting for one of the precinct's in Johnson County and wondering what is going on. The captain of that precinct tried and tried to get through to report the count, but couldn't, and I think he finally gave up and went home. The guy's probably in bed sound asleep by now. So, I doubt they will ever get 100% of the votes in before tomorrow.

So, afterall is said and done, the used car salesman (Mittens) didn't even exceed his 2008 performance despite not having a big vote getter like Huck in the contest. Yup, sounds like an inevitable nominee to me.

Mitt gave possibly the worst victory/concession speech of all time. What the heck was the bit about quoting America the Beautiful randomly?

Unreal!

I guarantee you there will be people pounding on his door all night!

Johnson County up to this point is overwhelmingly Romney 34.2% and Paul 30.6% with Santorum only at 16%. That does not bode well I am sorry to say. :(

Is it really true that Romney has done worse this time than he did in 2008? That would be comforting at least if he does manage to eke out a win after all!

I was waiting to see who would be the first to call Santorum "protectionist" because he cares about manufacturing...........and the winner is, Karl Rove!

What a dunce. :x

Good call goalie. I think Santos's economic policy is going to sell in NH.

That was the Santorum I remember back in 1994 when he first ran for Senate. I like that Santorum, not so much the go along to get along one that he became later on in his political career. Hopefully he learned something from getting thumped in 2006.

I think he will do well with the Midwest anti-Romney vote.

Considering that GOP voters preferred McCain to Romney, and that was before Romney's warts were as well known as they are now, surely Santorum has a pretty good shot?

Fox News is reporting that they don't know where two counties' ballots are. Could they turn up in the trunk of someone's car? I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but......:tinfoil

Santo was down by ONE vote briefly. Now up FOUR. This is golden. Also, I am giddy in a tired needs sleep sort of way.

Honestly, looking at the Iowa results with Santorum and Romney tied at 25% with a small margin of votes separating the two, I think it's safe to say that there still is no clear distinct candidate in the Republican field that really stands out at this point.

You just know the Romney fraud machine is going to steal this vote one way or another. Rove says some numbers may have been reported incorrectly..........to Romney's favor of course. Sounds like Shenanigans going on.

I agree. There is something going on here. I don't buy that someone would go to sleep and not turn in his results. We're all up, so are dedicated poli activists in IA. It's late enough for me to put on my tin foil without shame and point the finger at Willard.
