You just know the Romney fraud machine is going to steal this vote one way or another. Rove says some numbers may have been reported incorrectly..........to Romney's favor of course. Sounds like Shenanigans going on.

It's starting to remind me of all the sneaky crap they pulled back in the 2008 election along with the Ron Paul folks...

Karl Rove claims to have a reliable source that says Santorum and Romney came to an agreement that Romney will win the state by 14 votes. scratch

Y'all probably just saw on Fox: Mitt wins by 14. Apparently they really couldn't find the chair of one of the precincts, but those from the precinct from both camps confirmed the total. so it sounds legit. Hope the missing chairman is ok.

Sooo...you guys still want to support Santorum if he did in fact have that kind of agreement?

Oh, oops, what I meant by 'guys' was referring to all members here, not you Huckabeliever. I think the impression was from all the other threads in the forum including the one with the member poll.

Though, I am curious as to what the details of this agreement were...

. No agreement. People other than the precinct reporter reported the numbers from the precinct, both camps agreed the numbers were correct.

Sorry about my post then. Since you had quoted my post and said "you guys" I assumed you meant me and the other poster quoted. I've added an edit to my post.

I am very curious too. This all sounds too fishy.

P.S.-I voted for Uncommitted in the forum poll.

I don't know what's what, but, this is embarrasing. Whoever is responsible for the delay should never be allowed to run an election again.

The thing Rove says doesn't make sense to me. Why would Santorum agree to let Romney win?? It doesn't make sense and I won't believe it without some type of substantiation.

And to make things a little worse, John McCain will endorse Romney. :(

Santorum didn't.t agree to let Romney win. The Santorum people in the precinct in question merely confirmed, with the mitt people, the numbers from their precinct.

So Mitt won outright. nothing fishy.

All those dummies that voted Cain, 58 people, I wonder if they regret their wasted votes in such a close race!

Romney is going to have to contend with Gingrich, Paul and Huntsman going after him in NH. Here's hoping that they manage to bring him down and out of contention!

Yes, seriously guys, there's nothing fishy here. ALL IOWANS ARE HONEST PEOPLE.......oh, yes, AND HIGHLY INTELLIGENT! :D

We meet in school gyms and hotel conference rooms and churches and people get tired and, yes, they might not have understood they were supposed to call them in tonight or they may have given up when they couldn't get through after several tries. They are all volunteers and probably most of them have to go to work tomorrow. Some of our precincts didn't even have captains as of last night, so people were plugged into those spots today - so it's highly possible they weren't fully trained and were winging it.

So they may have gotten a call from their county officials late tonight, or, as Matt just explained, there are people from each of the candidates in most of the counting rooms who are taking their own notes on the count. That is why they could get the two candidates people together and compare notes and come up with a number that was agreed by both of their representatives who were in the room from the missing precinct. Also, there were several sheets with the numbers captains were comparing, and tallies on the wall even that reported the numbers from the precincts in our meeting, since we had a SuperCaucus (more than one precinct in one location). There were also reporters doing everything possible to find out the numbers. So the numbers were available - they just needed to track them down at these wee hours of the night, even from the precinct who's captain may not have gotten the official count in. Then the candidates reps who were auditing the count could look at their notes and say, yes, those are the right numbers.

I'm not sure that really helps the Mittster, might even hurt. The moderate loser of 2008 endorses the moderate of Mass. in 2012. Quite a pair they make.

From what I understand, the delegates from Iowa won't even be decided on until a few months from now, so that will be interesting how that plays out.

Wondered that myself too. I'd really like to hear the logic used by those 58 people who cast their vote for someone no longer in the race.

Yes, and some people voted for Romer. I didn't even know who he was and still don't!

I collected the votes in our precinct and seriously, there were people standing there and saying, I just don't know, I can't decide. I had to pass them over and come back to them. That's how undecided people were. Wonder if any of them were deciding between Romney and Santorum and went with Romney at the last minute. And you know there were more than 8 people who intended to go tonight and vote for Santorum, but decided at the last minute to stay home.

CRAZY!
