Good article, read the rest at the link:

But if you ask me, the best choice for Romney's vice president is former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

What does Romney want in a vice president?

The first rule in picking a vice presidential candidate is: Do no harm.
..
But Huckabee would do something else for Romney -- something I don't think any other person can do: shore up the evangelical base of the party and ignite genuine enthusiasm for getting Romney/Huckabee to the White House.

It's not just Huckabee's style or political positions that would do this. It's the relationship of trust and love he's built with evangelicals and connections to evangelicals across the country. He is beloved. He can motivate.

It would make sense that the Romney campaign team is keeping a Huckabee pick under wraps to avoid any advanced negativity (which floating his name early would bring). Further, interesting timing that Gov Huckabee has now got hairplugs!

Maybe wishful thinking on my part but I've always wondered if Romney struck a VP deal with him to step aside last year when Huckabee was leading the Republican presidential polls.

I guess I shouldn't have been quite so categoric but unless his hair stylist pulled off a miracle on Saturday, he indeed does!

I was thinking the same.

I was wondering if anyone has noticed any comments by pro Romney groups (referred to as Rombots last time, I believe). I recall the unending barrage of negative comments against Huckabee when each group wanted their guy to be McCain's vp pick. The only neg comments I see are at the end of the few news articles promoting him as vp, but none of the anti-Mormon accusations from last time. The absence of those comments and his partnering with Carl Rove during that debate......I don't know.....well, it just makes me wonder.
