This Sunday (September 6) ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos will include these guests: Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Republican presidential candidates John Kasich and Mike Huckabee; David Miliband, president and CEO of the International Rescue Committee.

The program airs at 9:00 AM Central. Please pray that Gov. Huckabee will do well and get fair treatment. The Kim Davis rally will no doubt be mentioned. Do you know what Kasich's views on the issue are?

As far as I know, Kasich is not supportive of Kim Davis.

Thank you for posting this link, christopher.

George Stephanopolous was reluctant to let Gov. Huckabee make his case and interrupted frequently. But Mike Huckabee was able to present his case that judicial supremacy is not the automatic "law of the land," but historically was warned against by Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and other of our founders. By making an opinion of a very divided court automatic law, we will lose our rights as a people to vote for legislators who make the law. Huckabee is obviously very emphatic that this must not happen. There are three equal branches, but Huckabee points out, this Court is acting as if it is the Supreme Branch that others must follow. No, there needs to be law codified before Kim Davis or any clerk should take a document which is for a man and woman--marriage being a state, not a federal matter--and use it in contradiction to the will of 70% of the people in Kentucky who voted to make the definition of marriage to be one man and one woman. She would be violating state law, as well as the Constitution, in addition to her conscience that tells her marriage is between a man and woman. Huckabee uses the Dred Scott decision to support his case.

On the other hand, Kasich is running on a "positive" message, that we are a whole lot better off than Syria. While he "doesn't like" the fact that Kim Davis is in jail, he feels "she should support the law." (Which law? we might ask, as Huckabee does.) "The Court has spoken," Kasich insists. He is making his campaign about the "do's" and not the "don'ts." But I have to think of how God brings about positive, useful, and purer lives by the use of some negatives called The Ten Commandments. He feels that a criticism or disagreement "turns people off." That may be, but what America needs is truth, I believe. And Mike Huckabee is still polite and loving, though firm and truthful, things a President needs to be. Hopefully, America will see that all smiles and a feathery faith will not solve the difficult, foundational problems that are threatening to undo the freedoms we hold dear in this land.
