I'm hoping for at least 2 of these three states tonight, this will help stop that opinion that this is all being given over to McCain.

I think we need to win 2 out of 3 today or it's over for Huckabee.

It would be nice to win Kansas and/or Washington while the polls are still open in Louisiana.

We should be doing more that "hoping." Let's be praying! Here's a promise to remember:

"Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies." Psalm 60:12

I realize we aren't expecting results till about noon, but something i've learned about this board, is that when breaking news is released suddenly there will be 5 threads on the same subject. Hopefully having this open will make people go to ONE thread to post on the results

Interesting that McCain has no scheduled events today. He must be feeling confident. He will regret this in days and weeks to come.

Go Mike!!

Could someone explain whay Louisianna is not important unless someone recieves 51 percent of the vote? Who gets LA delegates if no one gets that number, and who gets the delegates from the previous caucus they had in January.

I also agree 2 out of 3 is best.

LA is a big one if he wins it.

WA would be nice, because his grassroots is getting strong here.

KS, I'm sorting of expecting a win there.

Mike Huckabee called the LA one "cooked" which tells me he is not expecting to win that one.

Quote:
Asked about Louisiana’s primary today, he said: ‘There’s not really a process there…. It’s kind of cooked.’’ But in Kansas? “We have a shot.’’

You think the "cooked" comment might be to lower expectations?

No it's really cooked there. Getting over 50 percent is impossible.

Cool Hand Luke!!!

That's my new nickname for Mike Huckabee.

No matter what happens today in KS and WA, I keep having this vision in my head of when Dragline was beating the daylights out of Luke. Luke was beaten and bloodied, but he refused to give up. He got knocked over half a dozen times, and kept getting back up to fight.

Dragline said, "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you see I'm gonna kill ya? What are you, stupid?"

Luke just stood there smilin' with his bloody face.

Eventually, Dragline just gave up and walked away, because it wasn't worth it anymore.

This is Mike Huckabee.

Beaten and bloodied, he's the only one left standing when everyone else leaves.

From what i understand, Louisiana has a most interesting political history wrought with corruption. Those who live in LA may be able to shed more light . . .

That may be why the whole process has been kinda muddy there. .. lots of questions about how these delegates (uncomitted pro-life delegates) were won, etc. I read one article that said no one was quite sure how those delegates would be divided up. . .

Interesting that Huckabee mentioned the corruption in Arkansas when he came into office as Governor after years of a one party system. I think that's the first time in a speech that I've heard him specifically talk about the corruption of the Clintons although it's well documented everywhere. He understands better than anyone what they will do to win, which is ANYTHING, irregardless of whether it's ethical or legal.

I think that the others totally underestimate them and that's another reason why McCain will lose if he is the nominee. Huckabee has fought them before and knows lots of their dirty tricks.

The CPAC straw poll can potentially make up for any weakness in the 3 states. If CPAC doesn't vote for the "presumptive nominee" that's going to demand hours of media time with talking heads telling us what it means. Who knows what they'll say, but a Mike win would be very, very newsworthy.

Say Louisiana is "cooked" probably just refers to the way the system is designed to have the prior vote be the one that counts. I don't think it refers to corruption.

Cool Hand Luke probably isn't the best analogy here. If I recall, by the end of the movie, CHL was begging for mercy.
