I live in the most purple county in CO which is a purple state. I attended the Republican county assembly as a delegate. Very few candidates mentioned life issues. Everyone was jockeying for the position as the most pro-gun candidate in each race. My state senate district has a primary race and the candidate that is up front about his pro-life principles won a large majority of the delegate vote at the assembly. He also has gained endorsements from a large number of big name (in CO) Republicans. His opponent barely received enough votes to appear on the primary ballot this summer. He actively supported a civil union bill. I'm keeping my ears to the ground here and I will report back as often as I can. CO Republicans are very divided on the social issues so it is crucial that those of us on the side of life stay involved. Cory Gardner is running for Udall's Senate seat and he seems to be a solid pro life guy. We have a good pro life guy running for the 7th congressional district. Both are running against incumbents so it will be an uphill battle. The 7th is one of the most competitive congressional districts in the US 1/3 Dem, 1/3 Rep. and 1/3 ind. so that's one to watch. If we beat the Democratic incumbent that's a really positive sign for 2016.

How did those recalls against the pro-gun control people turn out? Or are they still happening? What is the current make up of the legislature?

Every single recall went through. One person who was going to be recalled stepped down so she could be replaced by a Democrat. The democrats currently have all three, house, senate and governor. Both of our Senators are Democrats and 3/7 of our congressional reps. are Democrats. The state senate majority is now only by 1 thanks to the recalls. Lots of the Democrats outside of the Boulder and Denver metro area are pro-gun, rural and blue collar labor union type people.
