Sandy Greiner of Iowa tweeted the following:

Anybody know WHY Huckabee is doing phone polling in Iowa?

Sandy Greiner is a Republican state senator in Iowa. Her contact info:

Is there a chance that she is confused because someone like PPP or Fox/CNN is doing a 2012 poll, and happened to include Mike just for grins?

I think this is all a rouse conducted by supporters of the Romney campaign to effect Iowa and perhaps Bachmann and Pawlenty straw poll showing.

Check out:

Sandy Greiner, of Keota, is a former state representative, and a force behind the American Future Fund, an independent expenditure group attacks national Democratic candidates. http://blogs.desmoinesregister.com/dmr/ ... y-greiner/

Then read about the organization:

The organization is led by professionals who worked for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's failed 2008 bid for the Republican presidential nomination, among other efforts. Since the positive Coleman ad, other American Future Fund ads have portrayed Democratic politicians negatively.

The group plans to continue focusing on Senate races. It is a 501(c)(4) and has an affiliated political action committee called American Future Fund Political Action.

Funders: unknown

Leadership: Nicole Schlinger, Tim Albrecht, Lisa Lisker, Jan Van Lohuizen, Ed Tobin, Ben Ginsberg, Larry McCarthy, Phil Musser.

She was a Fred Thompson supporter in 2007/2008.

She created the "Draft Branstad PAC" . That 527 organization turned into the NextGen PAC after Branstad formed an exploratory committee to run for governor.

Tim Albrecht, who was Romney’s Iowa spokesman in 2008 and now works for Republican Gov. Terry Branstad.

Albrecht tweeted this on April 27th:

RT @EWErickson: Mike Huckabee is out. He won't be running for President.

As for Reid Wilson, he tweeted this during Huckabee's book tour:

and Reid Wilson wrote this about Romney/Huckabee in January:

and he tweeted this on May 31:

Mitt Romney's on Piers Morgan tonight! Sorry Mitt, doubt you're gonna get a lot of press on this one.

So it looks to me like Romney surrogates are doing their dirty work again. Funny how that works. Romney always tries to look like he is above the fray, when in fact those working for his benefit are right in the fray.

I guess the next time I see a tweet about Huckabee and 2012, I will do my research first before I retweet. Looks like they wanted us Huckabee supporters to do their bidding by retweeting the message.

Just wondering... Will Huckabee be in the straw poll? If not, then how would it affect the other candidates? Is there a none of the above or undecided option?

I'm not sure it could make a significant difference - I'm already looking at the current slate of candidates & have it divided into two groups:
(1) status quo politics
(2) not ready for prime time

Neither category is going to help our country out of the mess it's in.

Of course, Obama is both of those categories taken to the extreme, so I'll vote for the anybody-but-Obama option in hopes of at least slowing down our descent until 2016. :(

What you have found about Griener's and Albrecht's background is correct but I don't think the tweet was some conspiracy. It is called bored Iowans with uninspiring candidates right now.
